Particularly adept in Washington state cannabis law, Ryan advises licensed marijuana producers, processors, retailers, and newcomers to ensure compliance with the state's stringent regulatory framework.

Before joining Cook & Bartlett, Ryan led the transactional team at a local law firm focused on cannabis law and business transactions. His extensive experience includes guiding clients through regulatory compliance, multimillion-dollar mergers and acquisitions, and various business transactions across both cannabis and non-cannabis sectors. Ryan brings this wealth of knowledge to Cook & Bartlett, adding to the firm’s existing exceptional ability to offer premium services to clients in a variety of practice areas.

Originally from Seattle, Ryan pursued higher education in Oregon for undergraduate and graduate degrees. Post-graduation, he returned to Seattle to embark on his professional legal career.

Currently, Ryan lives in Magnolia with his wife, two kids, and their two corgis, GusGus and Ellie. When not in the office, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, playing video games, working out, and cheering for the Seahawks and the Kraken.
